Upgrading
Update to a new release or move from the free module to Pro.
To a new release
Run the upgrade command from your project root. It updates Nuxt Agentic packages together and applies codemods for the releases between your current version and the target:
pnpm exec agentic upgrade
To install a specific version, pass it as an argument:
pnpm exec agentic upgrade 1.2.0
Generate the migration:
pnpm db:generate
Review the generated migration, then apply it:
pnpm db:migrate
The command reinstalls dependencies and prints a comparison of the starter between versions. Review that comparison and copy any template changes your app needs.
All @nuxtagentic-pro/* packages share one version. Breaking changes only ship in major
releases, with codemods and release notes.
Your license includes the releases published during its update window. Releases published after the window ends are not offered; versions you could install before stay available.
From the free module to Pro
Your agents and tools move unchanged.
- Set up the private registry with your license key, as in Getting started.
- Install the layer and the CLI:
pnpm add @nuxtagentic-pro/nuxt pnpm add -D @nuxtagentic-pro/cli wrangler drizzle-kit - Extend the layer, keep the free module and build for Cloudflare:nuxt.config.ts
export default defineNuxtConfig({ extends: ['@nuxtagentic-pro/nuxt'], modules: ['@nuxtagentic/nuxt'], nitro: { preset: 'cloudflare-module' }, }) - Add the database, auth secret and Cloudflare bindings. Copy
wrangler.jsonc,drizzle.config.ts,server/database/schema.tsand thedb:*scripts from the Nuxt starter, then runpnpm exec agentic keygen, pnpm db:generateandpnpm db:migrate.
What changes:
server/agentsandserver/toolsstay where they are and also appear in the dashboard.useAgent()keeps calling the same endpoint, which now requires a signed-in user.- Tool handlers also receive
actor, databaseandenvnext tosignal. - Provider keys come from the Worker environment:
OPENAI_API_KEY,ANTHROPIC_API_KEYandGOOGLE_AI_API_KEYinstead of theNUXT_AGENTIC_*variables. - For runs that survive a reload and pause for approval, switch pages to
useDurableAgent(). See Agents.
